Baked Mooncake with Mandarin Peel Red Bean Paste 陈皮红豆沙烤皮月饼 (中英加图对照食谱)


After I tried Kee Wah's (Hong Kong bakery) mini Eu Yan Sang red bean paste mooncake with mandarin peel, I fell in love with it immediately! I tried to replicate it few days ago and am quite happy with my new experiment!

Non-Bake Matcha Marble Cheesecake 免烤抹茶大理石芝士蛋糕 (中英加图对照食谱)


I just returned from my Hong Kong holidays few days ago and was busy unpacking my luggage, doing loads of laundry and cleaning up the house. In the midst of doing all these chores, I made this simple non-bake Matcha marbled cheesecake to celebrate my girl's 16th birthday, am glad she loves it! 

During my Hong Kong trip, I visited my two favourite baking supplier shops along Shanghai Street. If you are a baking enthusiast like me, you will surely love these two shops too!

Strawberry Ice-Cream Recipe & Blog Anniversary GiveAway 草莓冰淇淋 (中英加图对照食谱)


My friend, Marie, bought me this premium 100% pure Strawberry Powder from Taiwan some time ago and I have used it to make this simple 4 ingredients Strawberry Ice-Cream. My teenager commented that it tasted like Hagaan Dazs Strawberry ice-cream when she took her first mouthful. Indeed it does and it's awfully delicious! Homemade ice-cream is pretty simple to make with just 4 ingredients and most important it is free from artificial colourings, flavourings and preservatives.  

朋友从台湾带回来的100%纯天然特级草莓粉,最近拿来做草莓冰淇淋,味道微甜美味。女儿尝了一口,赞不绝口说味道太像“哈根达斯” (Hagaan Dazs) 的草莓雪糕!自制冰淇淋容易做,只需四种食材,最重要是不含人工色素,化学香料与防腐剂,吃了也安心。

Healthy Avocado Popsicles


This is my family's favourite avocado milkshake which I have turned into popsicles. It makes such a rich, creamy and refreshing treat to enjoy during this hot spell! Avocado is high in nutrients, full of vitamins and rich in healthy fats, protein, sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium. It has health benefits like making your skin glows, reducing cholesterol, anti-ageing, reducing blood pressure, maintains healthy heart etc.

Homemade Green Tea Milk Spread 自制抹茶牛奶酱 (中英加图对照食谱)


I have always love anything green tea and matcha and it's no surprise that I love the Korean O'Sulloc Green Tea Milk spread. However, it's really costly here in Singapore, selling at $18.90 for a 200g small bottle!

As I like my spread to be thick on toast, one small bottle does not last and is usually consumed within a day by my family of 4. Thus, I decided to make my own and am happy with the result as the taste is not far from the original. It is really simple as all you need is 4 ingredients and cooking is done within 30 minutes, easy peasy right?

Healthy Pandan Chiffon Cake 健康香兰戚风蛋糕 (中英加图对照食谱)


My 94 year-old granny was unwell recently and hospitalised for the past 2 weeks. Those who know me personally, will know that I am very close to her as she has looked after me when I was a baby till my teenage days. It saddened me to see her so miserable as she doesn't like to stay in the hospital. She has kept her lips tightly closed and refused the oral medications and hospital food and had to be put on a drip. The doctor thought that she has difficulty in eating and swallowing and wanted to insert a feeding tube which we were against. 

To proof to the doctor that my granny can actually eat, I've baked this pandan chiffon cake using extra virgin coconut oil (see below for the health benefits) and at the same time, I experimented with some bread flour. The result was amazingly good and I was surprised that the texture is so fine, smooth and cottony! 

I brought this cake to the hospital and my granny finally opened her mouth to eat as I fed her. The doctor and nurses were really amazed as they saw her chewing the cake happily away! I have shared this cake with the doctors, nurses and patients and all gave big thumbs up and commented that the cake is so delicious!

Thank God that my granny is finally discharged from the hospital and I've baked this family's favourite Gula Melaka Yoga cotton cake, also using extra virgin coconut oil, to welcome her home and cheer her up. Am really happy to see her eating well again. :)

Cranberry Orange Pistachio Bread 蔓越莓橘子开心果面包 (中英加图对照食谱)


I have kept my promise in my previous post to share bread recipes using my new 'toy' - Thermomix TM5 which is super efficient in kneading the bread dough to window pane stage in just mere 6 minutes as compared to my breadmaker which takes about 30 to 40 minutes to knead until window pane stage! 

我的新玩具‘小美’ (美善品)真的是我的好帮手,在短短的6分钟就能搓成可拉出稍具透明薄膜状的面团了!
