Watermelon Frozen Roll Cake 沁凉西瓜抹茶蛋糕卷 (中英食谱教程)

How time flies, this will be my last post for the Little Thumbs Up - Tea event which I am hosting this month and ending tonight. Many thanks to Zoe and Doreen, the organizers, who have once again given me the opportunity after hosting the LTU - Yogurt theme two months ago. I hope you are not tired of seeing another Matcha post from me. I love anything Matcha and would gladly accept the title of "Matcha Queen" if it's bestowed upon! Today I am sharing this special Watermelon Frozen roll cake which I have made for my birthday yesterday. It was really challenging especially working on the raspberry and cream fillings on a hot day and taking photos at the same time, but thank God I made it successfully! It is such a refreshing and delicious cake and did satisfied my cravings for frozen desserts in this warm season!

Homemade Matcha Kit-Kat 自制抹茶巧克力Kit-Kat (中英食谱教程)

My kids and I really love eating Matcha kit kat. The love started when I bought a few cartons of this sweet treats back during my Japan trip 2 years ago. We are glad that it is available locally and buy it often to satisfy our cravings. Few days ago, my girl asked me if I could replicate this at home and I thought it would be fun to give it a try! So, here's sharing with you my copycat version, the first three steps are similar to making Matcha Nama Chocolate which I have shared earlier on (Click on the name or image below for the recipe) and the end result tastes amazingly close to the real Matcha kit-kat!

I have made these simple non-bake frozen durian cheesecake to celebrate this occassion. It is so moreish that I highly recommend that you should give it a try!

Matcha Cookies Ice-Cream 抹茶曲奇冰淇淋(中英食谱教程)


As mentioned before, due to the warm weather, I am making ice-cream more frequently and constantly thinking what flavour I should try next. Looking at the matcha cookies which I baked last week, it gave me an inspiration to incorporate it into my favourite homemade vanilla ice-cream and hence the birth of this deliciously good matcha cookies ice-cream!

Matcha soft cookies 抹茶松软曲奇(中英食谱教程)

This recipe is adpated and modified from the famous Granny Boyd's chocolate cookies by Nigella Lawson. It's simple to make using just four ingredients. The texture of this cookie is a firm top but not hard and will slightly melt in your mouth. It's so deliciously good and even more fragrant with the use of homemade vanilla sugar! 

这食谱是改自著名女厨师Nigella Lawson 的Granny Boyd 巧克力曲奇。单单只用四种食材就能简易地做出这款好吃的松软曲奇了!我还用了自制的香草糖,味道更加美味!

Matcha Milk Pudding 抹茶牛奶布丁(中英食谱教程)

Ever since my kids tried the famous milk pudding (shaped like a jumping ball with a white skin which has to be pricked open before consuming) at Taiwan Miaoli Flying Cow Ranch (台湾苗栗飞牛牧场) during our farm stay two years ago, they fell in love with this chilled dessert. 

Due to the warm weather, my kids have been asking for cold desserts so I made these simple and healthy homemade version of milk pudding in Matcha flavour as my family are great Matcha lovers! The texture is so smooth and velvety and pairing it with cooked azuki red beans will give it an even better taste.

Earl Grey Tea Loaf 伯爵茶面包(中英食谱教程)

It's been a long time since I shared a breadmaker recipe. I have not forsaken my Kenwood breadmaker, it is still working hard for me baking loaf bread twice a week. I have not shared a new breadmaker recipe as I have been sticking to my basic loaf using the Wu Pao Chun Champion Toast breadmaker recipe.  Being the host for this month's Little Thumbs Up event with the theme 'Tea', I decided to try out a Tea Bread recipe (茶叶面包)from a recipe book - 我爱面包机 (I Love Breadmaker). I have chosen to use Earl Grey tea. According to Wikipedia, Earl Grey tea is a tea blend with a distinctive citrus flavour and aroma derived from the addition of oil extracted from the rind of the bergamot orange, a fragrant citrus fruit. The loaf turns out wonderfully aromatic and tasty!

Matcha Nama Chocolate 抹茶生巧克力 (中英食谱教程)

It was almost 2 years ago that I made the Royce copycat Nama Chocolate. Yesterday, I attempted to make another Royce's copycat - Matcha Nama Chocolate which has the aroma and bitterness of green tea. If you ask me which one taste better, it would be difficult to make a choice as both are equally good! This quick and simple recipe is definitely worth trying!
