Homemade Matcha Kit-Kat 自制抹茶巧克力Kit-Kat (中英食谱教程)


My kids and I really love eating Matcha kit kat. The love started when I bought a few cartons of this sweet treats back during my Japan trip 2 years ago. We are glad that it is available locally and buy it often to satisfy our cravings. Few days ago, my girl asked me if I could replicate this at home and I thought it would be fun to give it a try! So, here's sharing with you my copycat version, the first three steps are similar to making Matcha Nama Chocolate which I have shared earlier on (Click on the name or image below for the recipe) and the end result tastes amazingly close to the real Matcha kit-kat! 

家里的小孩和我都很喜欢吃宇治抹茶巧克力Kit Kat,前几天女儿问我是否能在家自制这款零食,我就尝试做了这山寨版的 ,做法的前三个步骤跟之前做的抹茶生巧克力相似。(可点击名称或以下的照片看食谱) 味道还蛮像真的宇治抹茶巧克力Kit Kat,好开心喔!




Homemade Matcha Kit-Kat 
自制抹茶巧克力Kit-Kat  
(adapted and modified from idreaminchocolate, 中文食谱由Baking Taitai翻译)


Ingredients: (makes 22 bars)
1 pack (175g) Loacker's milk wafer   
400 grams of white chocolate (I used Cadbury white creamy chocolate. 
Check that the white chocolate contains cocoa butter, do not use inferior brands which contain vegetable fat. )  
20g unsalted butter  (cut into smaller pieces)
3 tsp uji matcha powder (must use Japanese uji matcha powder not any other green tea powder, advisable to taste as you add and adjust the amount to your sweetness liking)    
110ml whipping cream

食材:(可做22片)
1包 (175克)意大利Loacker莱家牛奶威化饼干 
400克 白巧克力(我用Cadbury牌子白巧克力, 白巧克力要含有可可脂的,别用含植物脂肪的低等品牌白巧克力。 )
20克 无盐牛油(切小块)
3茶匙 宇治抹茶粉 (一定要用日本的宇治抹茶,口味才像。一面加,一面尝试,依个人喜欢的甜度加多或减少)
110毫升  淡奶油




This is my favourite Japanese Uji Matcha powder which I buy from Isetan supermarkets in Singapore.
 这是我最喜欢的宇治抹茶粉,在 新加坡的Isetan日本超市买得到。

Method 方法: 
1. Put cream in a saucepan (make sure the pot is perfectly dry as even a small amount of water can "seize" the chocolate during melting ) and heat till you see bubbles forming at the side. Turn off the heat. (Do not overheat the cream or your chocolate will separate. )

1。把鲜奶油放入一个锅中加热,(一定要确保锅是完全干的,因为即使少量的水也可以使巧克力变成固体颗粒状态)看到周围冒泡时,息火。 (不要煮过热,不然巧克力会油水分离。)




2. Add in the white chocolate and stir quickly till it melts then add in the butter and stir till mixture is completely combined and smooth. (I did this over the induction hob using super low heat to keep the mixture warm for easier mixing) 

2。加入白巧克力,快速搅拌融化再加入牛油, 拌均滑顺。(我用电磁炉最小火保持混合物的温度会比较容易搅拌。)



3. Once the chocolate has melted, whisk in the matcha powder and mix well until dissolved. Turn off the heat. (As I mixed in the matcha powder, I tasted both the matcha chocolate and real matcha kit kat at the same time for reference to get a closest taste as possible.)     

3。巧克力一旦融化,加入抹茶粉拌匀至溶解,息火。 (我一面加入抹茶粉,试吃抹茶巧克力,同时也吃抹茶kit kat参考,尽量达到最接近的口味。)






4. Optional: You can skip this step and use the wafer as a whole. 
Cut the wafers into half gently along the longer side. Spread a thin layer of matcha chocolate on half of the wafers. Stick one wafer on top to seal so it’s a complete wafer. Set aside. 

4 。自选可省略这个步骤,用整个威化饼干

威化饼干沿长边轻轻切半。在半片上抹一层薄薄的抹茶巧克力后,拿另外半片盖上成完整的威化饼干。





5. Pour 1/2 matcha chocolate into a 9" x 9" square pan and place the wafers neatly on top of the chocolate. Pour in the rest of the matcha chocolate, spread out evenly to cover the surface.  

5。抹茶巧克力一半倒入9" x 9"烤盘,再把威化饼干整齐地排上,倒入剩余的抹茶巧克力, 抹平均匀覆盖表面。
 




6. Place the kit kats in the freezer. It is ready when the chocolate is set. Cut the kits kats up.


6。放入冰箱冷冻直巧克力凝固,再切片。






7. Store in an air-tight container and put it into the fridge or freezer for up to two weeks.


7。储存在密封盒,放入冰箱或冷冻柜保存长达两星期。
