Baked pasta with homemade cream sauce

Last week, my 12 year old girl tried to replicate a homemade pasta dish which I have cooked before using homemade cream sauce and I must say it's a success and well done for her first attempt!

Here's the meal she cooked for us.
'Pasta with pan-fried salmon' prepared by my 12-yr-old girl on 5 June 2014 .

Yesterday,I used this favourite homemade cream sauce to made this baked pasta dish. I got the cream sauce recipe from the internet long ago but can't remember where it was taken from. Here's sharing with you how I have adapted the cream sauce to make a baked pasta. It's easy and delicious, do try it!

Baked pasta with homemade cream sauce

Ingredients for making cream sauce:
300ml whipping cream
slices of cheddar cheese
1 small piece of butter
6 cloves of garlic, chopped
Pinch of salt
Dash of pepper
1tsp mixed herbs
1tsp parsley flakes

Ingredients for baked pasta:

200g penne (or any pasta shape of your choice)
200g fresh shitake mushroom
shredded mozzarella cheese
shredded cheddar cheese

1. To cook pasta, bring a large pan of water to the boil and add salt and cooking oil. (The oil prevents the pasta from sticking together.) Add the pasta to the boiling water. Depending on its thickness, most pasta will cook in 10-12 minutes.

2. Slice the fresh mushrooms, chopped up the garlic.

3. Heat some butter in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and cook till lightly browned. Pour in the whipping cream, lower the heat and bring to simmer. Add in the cheese, salt, pepper, parsley, herbs and fresh mushroom and stir till the cheese melts. Simmer for a few minutes before pouring over cooked pasta.

4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese generously to cover the top of the ovenproof dish. (I use Corning ware pot)

5. Baked in preheated oven 200 degrees celcius using top heat for about 10 minutes until the top is crisp. (For my brandt oven, I used the High Grill function)

Dish is ready to serve!

Come... help yourself!

Yummy

Hi, (I can't address you as you did not state your name),
I have bought it in 2007 and have been using it regularly for chopping for garlics, chilli, grinding sesame seeds, and making smoothies etc. and it has served me well till date and it's a great kitchen tool for me. :)
